Here come the Girls

 

I have been playing again with the Julie Nutting Doll Stamps again.

It's been relaxing sitting and cutting out paper piecing while watching the

weather changing from summer to autumn within and hour and then back again.

The paper for the background of this card is a Printable download Polka Dotty 6 x 6 that comes in a variety of colours. Riley is quite tall and fits the A5 card.

 

 



 

Priscilla is quite a sassy young lady and I love to give her paper pieced stockings.

My niece loves her and earlier in the year used her for a canvas she made.

Julie Nutting Doll Tag 2

 

Tag 2 was started on the play day we had last week. There was a delivery while I was there and a few things dropped into my virtual basket. Glenda opened the newly released Watercolour tag pad from Prima and we put it to the test.

 

 

 

We tried Distress inks, paints and Brusho inks. I used distress stains for my tag and was pleased with the way it took the colours and kept the vibrancy. I finished this tag at home with some stencilling, stamping and added Cassandra doll.

Inspired Tag

 

My mojo had done a disappearing act at the beginning of the week. So when I knew that it was a special friends birthday on Wednesday and a play date was on the calendar, it was a relief to have the old mojo kick started.

 

 

 We had lots of inky, painty fun with fabulous company and a delicious food for lunch.

We each played with Glenda's Brusho ink granules and came up with some great bits and bobs. I have never seen anyone do such fine art work with such an enormous brush as Glenda did.

Lesley was working on a project with Julie Nutting Doll stamps and

this is where my inspiration came from.

A few things came home with me, this is Riley who is great for paper piecing. The tag is from the Mixed Media Couture Tag Pad 3.5" x 8" - Hancock Park and I used my new favourite stencil Branches.

Fragment background with Couture Lady

Sometimes you just need to play with the goodies that you have in your stash. I was off work last week and gathered a hand full of inkpads, card, paper, new stamp from the texture fragments and my favourite Julie Nutting Couture Lady stamp.

For the background I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Mown Lawn and Peacock Feathers then over stamped with the stamp from Abstract Fragments with Peacock Feathers. I added a few foliage stamps along the bottom to ground the doll. The lady was stamped onto white card and coloured with copic pens and dressed by paper piecing paper. Colouring white flowers is ideal to be able to tie in the colours used for the background, I sprayed with Dylusion Inks.

Stamps by Julie Nutting

I was lucky to see a beautiful canvas some months ago featuring one of the Doll stamps by Julie Nutting and I fell in love with them. Yesterday I visited Glenda, Adrian, Lesley and Val at CB headquarters for there Warehouse sale and I managed to get my sticky hands on two of the doll stamps. (not in the sale) For rubber stamps of this size, they are 6 inch plus in size, they were worth every penny.

My first card is made using the Strapless Dress Doll She was a delight to put together. I coloured her arms, legs and head with Copics and Graph'it pens. The dress is paper pieced from Prima Meadow Lark paper.




The second has been made using the Swing Dress Doll and this card has already been delivered to a good friend for her birthday today. I used paper from a DCWV pad I bought a few years ago.
