Pretty Rose Tree

I made these cards a little while ago and when Glenda told us they were to be the stamp of the week on offer I checked back through my files and found them. Rose Tree is a lovely stamp set with a fab little bee on it as well as a lovely arrangement of flowers, handy for lots of occasions. These stamps are on offer for a week only and if you visit the Chocolate Baroque Design Team blog there are a few more samples there. Debbie

A Fairy amongst the Flowers

Think I'll start by saying 'thanks for visiting' as I always leave it to the end. My card today uses another of my favourite Chocolate Baroque stamps the Fairy from Gossamer Wings. She sits beautifully between the crocus from Spring is in the Air.
I started by stamping the fairy with memento black ink so I was able to colour the wings with alcohol pens. I stamped onto a post it to make a mask of the fairy and the stamped the crocus's again with memento for colouring. For the wings I stamped onto acetate with stazon and added waterfall stickles.
The colour of the pens is just visible through the acetate. They are attatched with a little silicone glue. Rather than using distress ink to colour the ground I used the broad end of the alcohol pen. Debbie

Spring Note cards

I love the size of these stamps for A6 cards. I have a friend who recently commented on how expensive it is to send cards and would like some smaller cards so this will be a gift for her as she sends alot of Easter cards.
The outside is made from an A4 piece of white card and scored twice along the centre fold line. Score across the bottom to create a pocket and fix with a couple of pieces of red tape. I hope the picture explains. I added paper printed from the Decadent Brocade cd.
A labels die with sentiment and ribbon was added to the front.
Here are a couple more photos of the cards.
Thank you for visiting, Debbie

With Sympathy Cards

Blogger has changed the way you load posts and at the moment I'm really frustrated with the way it is setting out the photos and text. I've tried a couple of layouts over the weekend and am still not happy. If anyone can help, please leave me a comment as to what I'm doing wrong. Sympathy cards are the cards we really don't want to make. The With Sympathy stamps are on offer at the moment. Here are a couple of cards I've recently added to my box incase I need to send one, hopefully not in the near future. These stamps are also useful for church weddings, christenings and Easter cards. Altering a spatula and swap Quintiles

I have had a problem for the last 4 years with knowing if our dog has been fed or not because he's always hungry and could eat all day. I saw last year that you know if a Golden Retriever is unwell if it doesn't eat. He is fed on a morning and at tea time, that seems easy to work out but as my hubby works shifts we have on occasion both fed him. A dressing up session with Amy. So to help with our problem I found a spatula at our hardware shop and set to altering it. Yes on one side and No on the other, it seems to be working so far. I signed up with a lovely group of ladies on the Chocolate Baroque forum group to do a Quintile swap. Margaret who is organizing the swap suggested a 5x5 size to work on. Each month we make 2 pieces and each month is themed. Here are my January pieces the theme was Winter Wonderland. I'm looking forward to seeing the February Quintiles I recieve. I'll take photos of them. Hope you stop by again Debbie

For my Valentine

I bought this slate tile a few weeks ago with a project in mind. I was hopping around a few blogs and spotted a friend had used the tile in a similar way. I die cut a few roses and glued them to the top. The sentiment is stamped with Brilliance Moonlight White and I'm impressed with how it stamped. I added a few small hearts and buttons which I'm totally addicted to at the moment.
Here is the card I've made for my hubby to go with his gift.
I love the quirkiness of these bird stamps from Happy Words and Birds, my hubby isn't a mushy person so I think he'll like this one. It's a good job my hubby isn't a blog hopper. Thanks for visiting. Debbie

Out looking for cushions

Yeaterday while out looking for cushions a few extras fell into my basket. I bought two small canvass and I thought they would look good decorated and put on the wall of our newly painted living room. I decided to delve into my stash cupboard and play with some 3D paste that I bought many years ago at a workshop and never used. Out came my stencils, paints, inks and stamps. When the paste was dry I painted them and hit a brick wall 'what do I do next.' A friend suggested looking at Finnabars blog. I had a quick look last night and my head was bouncing with ideas. Up early this morning I started decorating and am pleased with both pieces.
It took quite a while to put all the seed beads into the bottle but it reminds me of when people came back from there holidays and brought back bottles of sand. The second is much simpler and uses painted grungeboard for the handcut flowers.
We did finally buy new cushions but it took visits to another four shops to find them. Thanks for stopping by Debbie
