Pretty Pink Tulips

Good Morning.
It's so lovely to see the new seasons flowers appearing and these tulips are a delight to colour.
I chose soft pink as the card is a Mothers Day card I'm making for a friend to give to her Mum.

I stamped the tulips with black memento ink so I could colour with alcohol pens. I trimmed the card and mounted on pink card.
The die is rather delicate and it fell into my shopping basket at a show last year. I highlighted the embossed areas with spun sugar distress ink. The final touch was the ribbon.

Paint brushes card

I've been having great fun making these quick cards and the idea for this one came in to my head as I often put my brushes into my coffee cup, usually bristle end in.

I inked the bristle end of the paint brush with the colour and black for the handle. I added glossy accents to help the vibrancy of the colour. The cup has a slit cut into it to hold the brushes.
I sprayed a strip of Resist Canvas with a few different colours and frayed the edges. The background is random stamping and a couple of quick pencil lines.

Spring Bird on a Branch

I had a really relaxing afternoon making this card. I'm not sure it was due to the soft green colour I was using or the way the card came together with the idea I had actually working. It can be frustrating when the idea changes or doesn't happen the way you want it to.

I started with the colouring of the bird on the branch, I used alcohol pens and pencils.
The next step was to die cut the image and the green layer for behind. The card base was stamped with an Willow Adirondack inkpad. I love the little stamps in the Chocolate Baroque sets as they are great for pattern making.

Tea for three

I'm loving the quick cards, that I've been inspired by Finnabair to make.
This little cup is quickly becoming a firm favourite in my collection of rubber stamps.

Instead of using my watercolour pencils for colouring the image I grated the pencil over the card and then misted with water. I found I could be precise with where I wanted the colour to be.
When dry I did a little stamping with a mesh stamp and stencilling through sequin waste. The freeform lines are a little scary to do but the quicker you do it the better they turn out. I have been cutting many doily dies for a project I'm doing at the moment so coloured one of the to add behind the cups. The cups were stamped with permanent ink and I cut a slit into the cup allowing me to slot them together. I covered the cups with glossy accent and sprinkled white Art Sugar which unfortunately is hard to see on the picture.

Spring Bird on a blossom branch

Good morning.
A card and a tag from me today using the bird on a branch from Spring Bird Daffodil
My card is a design that I've admired for a while and I put twist onto it.

I added the pink that highlights the flowers on the branches. This little bird is lovely to colour and suits many colours.

My tag is from the Prima Hancock Park Tag Pad that I bought some time ago.
I stamped direct to the tag and coloured the flowers, berries and branch. The bird was stamped onto white card and coloured then cut out and glued. I stamped on the bottom of the tag and trimmed a fancy edge. This tag is going into my tag book that's a work in progress.

15 minute cards with a love theme

I made these cards with a restriction on the time I had to complete them.
The first has ink flicked onto the card and when dried I quickly drew the lines and shapes, not worrying about being to arty. The stamps are from Finnabairs new releases. I stamped them onto card coloured the edges and added glossy accents.

The second is made in a similar way to the first. I stamped onto the card so the hearts had a contrast behind them.

I've had great fun with these and I'm sure there will be more to follow.

Floral Note Cards

Three note cards from the set I have made as a gift for a friend's birthday.
These were a quick make using inks brushed onto the card to in a block and then stamping the flowers from Spring Birds from Chocolate Baroque.

I made a wallet style holder for the cards using the cards for the measurements.

Don't think, just do it

These are the pages I added to my journal that was started last weekend at my weekend away with Finnabair.

We were instructed that we only had 15 minutes to work on the pages and Ania showed us the techniques and off we went. I thoroughly enjoyed working at speed with only a few bits and bobs from my crafty stash.

I used washi tape, a stencil, black inkpad, pencil, stamps and a Colour Chemistry Triple inkpad that I was given as a gift by the generous Lynnda Worksnop (FB had told her it was my 49th birthday last weekend).
Working to a time limit is such fun and this week I have a few cards to show working this way.

A Brilliant Birthday weekend

Last Sunday was my 49th Birthday and I'm now 51 weeks away from my 50th Birthday. Although my neighbour of 49 years sent me this card -

which I will keep until next year.

I had a wonderful time as I was also attending a workshop weekend with the fabulously talented Finnabair. We made three amazing projects and she showed us many great mixed media techniques.
The photo below shows the ladies who participated and Sam the dog who has
become our furry mascot.

This is my scrapbook page of my furry buddy Archie and the Rocking Horse Canvas we made on the Saturday.

For the Sunday workshop we decorated a journal cover and pages .

I truly had a wonderful weekend and received a couple of special handmade cards which I'll treasure and some lovely gifts.
Thanks to the all ladies who made the weekend so special and my partner in crime.

Pastel Pretty Tulips

Good morning.
I always think that when the current set of rubber stamps lands on the door mat, they are the best yet until the next month and the next set arrives. I adore these stamps and will be using them all during the year although they are of a spring theme.

I recently received a set of new alcohol pens so set too and stamped the tulips from Spring Birds Tulip with memento black ink. I love that the images colour so well because of the way they are designed. I added the sentiment and matted onto yellow and purple.
