First of the Month

Not sure why the date is wrong.

I'm looking forward to seeing the spring flowers blooming in the sunshine today. I love the daffodils in the borders of the garden they really make me smile. It's St Davids day today and it's also my birthday. I still remember going to school when I was little and recieving the bumps from my friends and anybody else who cared to join in. H&S wouldn't allow that to happen in the playground nowadays.
I really enjoyed making this card, I love the new word stamps Artistic Expressions from Chocolate Baroque and I played with my Grand Calibur that I recieved for Christmas.

I used Stormy Sky for the flourish and distressing the edges. Versafine Onyx Black for the wording and clear embossing powder. I combined the word stamps to make the phrase.

I hope everyone is having a good day

A Patriotic Cot Quilt

At the moment everything is gearing up for the Olympics and the Queens Jubilee. I feel proud to be British and hope that with all the worries in the world we can all have some happy times this year.
I was asked to make a cot quilt for a friend of a friend that is due in a couple of weeks time. The couple don't know the sex of the baby so I didn't have a brief for the colour. I didn't want the quilt to be overly fussy so that it would fit with the parents choice of Nursery colours.
I wanted to make it personal to them and the Daddy of the new baby is representing Great Britain at the Olympics this year so I chose to make one of the panels a Union Jack Flag.

Unfortunately I didn't take the best photo as I was dashing out of the door to give it to my friend when I remembered.
The quilt has been given to the couple and they are over the moon with it, phoning people to tell them. I love what I do for the reason to make people smile.

Brayering Workshop

Yesterday I attended a workshop for brayering and our teacher was the talented Lesley Wharton. I had done a workshop about 6 years ago but have never really been confident. I have always had the lines, uneven blocks of colour like everyone gets. The nuggets of wisdom I came away with were, work quickly and in one direction not pressing down to hard. It was lovely to see Janet and £1.70 Lilian, we did giggle alot.

We all came away with one project to be made into a card at home.

I played until late last night and made them into cards this morning. All of these are made using Distress Inks.

I used stamps from Chocolate Baroque for all of these pieces, they just work so well mixing and matching together.

New stamps Give away

Artistic Expressions are the new stamps that Glenda has launched over at Chocolate Baroque. The stamps are brilliant for all crafters. If you are wanting a card with only words or a perfect addition to a scrapbook page these will do the job.
Here's a snippet of a card I made and I'll post the photo of the full card on the Design Team Blog soon.

If you would like the opportunity to win this stamp plate pop over to the Design Team Blog. There's a give away so leave a comment and Glenda will choose a winner next Tuesday.

Good luck everyone

Red Rose Tree

Just a quickie from me today. This is one of the Valentine cards I made for my Hubby. I say one of them because I got carried away with myself and made four.
I hope this has given you another suggestion for colouring the Rose Tree from Chocolate Baroque.

Thanks for taking a look
