Journaling fun

Here are a couple of my journal page. I'm mainly using as a reference journal of techniques that I have learned at workshops or just having a play.
At the last workshop I attended I sat next to a great friend and I fell in love with the colours she had used in her book. This is my interpretation of her pages with  some stamping and painting.

The second pages are coloured with Gelatos and I used a piece of damp sponge to swipe across them blending the colours. The squares are embossing paste and the stamps are single stamps. I love the wording, it reminds me that anything is possible.

Sketchy Doodle Landscape

Hi. A quick and simple card from me today.
I loved this stamp from first looking at it and decided that as the stamp is so detailed I didn't want to add any colour.

I chose a black Versafine inkpad as it is great for detailed stamping. I die cut an aperture from the white card and then a slightly smaller from black card. I stamped the sentiment which is from Amazing Birthdays clear stamps. The clear sentiments are ideal for positioning. I glued the black frame to the inside of the card and then the stamped piece of card.

Sketchy Doodle Flower

Hello. I'm always surprised with the different effects and results that Brusho powders give.
These cards are made the same way, with the same stamps, powders card and they look different the way the powder has spread when water is added.

Four Doodle Flower Cards

A couple of cards from me today.

I started by stamping the flowers from Sketchy Doodle Landscapes many times onto a piece of
A4 white card. I love these flowers, they are really funky. I outlined the flowers with a charcoal pencil and smudged slightly, this gives them a bit of depth.

I admit I started colouring the flowers and after two nights of colouring gave up and changed to Alcohol pens which has been much quicker.

I managed to make four cards from the one piece of stamped and coloured card.
A square, two DL and a note card.

Changing the colour of the matting card picks out the different colours.

Thanks for visiting
and
Happy stamping

Anniverary frame with a bit of sparkle

Last weekend while out shopping I spotted a bright pink plastic frame that my daughter fell in love with and the crafter in me thought 'what can I do with this.'

The frame only cost 99p so wasn't to worried if it all went wrong and ended up in the bin.
I started by covering the frame with white Gesso and when dry painted. I didn't want to use the glass in the frame so covered the backing with art basics 3D Gloss Gel and laid hessian on. When dry I covered with art basics Gesso and then used the soft matt gel through a stencil and while still wet sprinkled glitter on. I sprayed the flowers and the hessian dark pink and shimmer spray. I die cut a card heart and covered with paper that has a key on and put Glossy Accents on. The embellishments are from my precious stash that I'm slowly using because I love them sooooo much. The 25 signifies it'll be our 25th wedding anniversary this year.

I've had real fun making this and intend making a few more for around my craftroom.
