Inspired Flowers

We take inspiration for making art from many places and this card was inspired by Moorcroft Pottery that Florence from the Team had pinned on Pinterest. I have a Moorcroft piece that belonged to my Mum but unfortunately the family don't like it so it's carefully packed away.

 

I started with black card rubbing it with an anti static bag and then stamped the flower border with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold powder. I repeated with the smaller flowers from the set. The flowers and leaves were coloured with Twinkling H2Os and against the black card the colours really shine. I cut a tag and added a sentiment then stamped around the edges of it. The ribbon is used sparingly as it's one of my favourites and matches the purple card well.

Stocking up continued

 

Morning. I hope the Easter Eggs are a plenty and there's lots of craftiness going on.

 

Here are a few more cards I've made for baby boys that will go into my card box

 

This one has space for a greeting and the babies name to go onto bunting.

 

 

I added Wink of Stella to the blanket and hat but unfortunately the photo doesn't pick it up.

Happy Easter

 

Happy Easter to all, I hope it's a good extended weekend break.

 

I made this card a couple of years ago as a DT card and as I've sent my cards and forgot to take photos I thought I'd use this one. The daffodils are from Easter Traditions stamp set.

 

I've been busy with DT cards over the last two weeks, unfortunately nothing to share until next month.

I have been trying to stock up on a few cards for my box at home and as I have a few friends becoming Grandparents thought I'd make a few for when I need them.

 

Here are the girls cards I've made ready for the new arrivals.

 

 

I've used Lili of the Valley stamps as they are so cute and colour well for girls or boys.

 

 

This last one is a Chloe set and such a quick make.

Elegant Leaves

I chose to make a couple of cards using a variety of colours with one stamp and a sentiment.

 

 

The first is Potting Soil Archival for stamping and Peeled Paint ink for water colouring. I heat set the Potting soil to make sure it was set and wouldn't run.

 

 

For the second I stamped the leaf with Vermillion Archival Ink and water coloured with a variety of Fired Brick and Mustard Seed Distress Inks.

 

 

This card was made using the Potting Soil and Mustard Seed inks.

I love the shape of these leaves and they make great backgrounds. I've had great fun using them and there's five more fantastic stamps in this set.

Patchwork Trees in Blues

I usually start by stamping my new stamps with black ink but felt I needed a change and used Cornflower Blue Archival ink which is a firm favourite colour.

 

 

 

I had a piece of card that I'd stamped the flower pattern from Texture Fragments with Versamark ink and left to dry. I then rubbed an acrylic block with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, spritzed with water and laid the card on to it. When the card had dried I stamped the Patchwork trees and flowers with the Cornflower Blue ink. I used a little of the blue to water colour under the flowers to give them a grounding. For the base of the card I used masked a border and stamped the fragment. I added a sentiment and mounted onto blue card.

Colourful Canvases

On Saturday I spent the day with wonderful talented Ladies at a workshop painting, gluing, cutting out, chatting, laughing (provide by the legendary Lou and relaxing.

It was all organized by Sue who has been fabulous, bringing talented ladies to the North East to educate us and pamper with tea, coffee, biscuits and cake.

This weekend was the turn of Michelle Webb who produced a stunning canvas and helped us to create our own.

Everybody came away with a finished piece and mine will be proudly hung in the living room.

I intend to buy a few more canvases and put the techniques I learned to good use.

 

 

During last week I had been playing with two canvases and think they will be hung with the one from Saturday.

Happy Birthday xxx

Today Chocolate Baroque is 3 years old today.

 

 

 

I want to wish Glenda and Adrian all the best for the future as they have worked so hard to at what they do so well producing rubber stamps that are of such wonderful designs and the best quality. They have a marvellous team that help to deliver the best customer service and designs on the market. I can say this as I have a great passion for what they all do.
